Where I Went Wrong
I apologise, yes I do. Not to Mohammed Salem but for helping to foster a situation that has inadvertently made Salem more famous or infamous- depends on your take. I believe I have unintentionally helped Salem’s career. If his claims are correct, a previous song of his was downloaded many more times and his website would have, ofcourse, received many more hits- I believe that I am partly responsible for this. As I have stated earlier, his lifestyle is his choice BUT not at Islam’s expense. That is a request that any fair minded Muslim would agree with.
As much as Salem tries to justify his actions in the light of Islam, he is wrong and if he were truly sincere to the religion, he claims to adhere to, he would admit as much. He has stated on his website and elsewhere that “I would just like to say that being against homophobia does not make a person gay. But I do believe that we are all human and that we all deserve equal respect.” Well that is his opinion, but never, ever claim that this is the teaching of Islam in regards to homosexuality.
It is grand hypocrisy for him to be milking this situation for every drop he can suckle. He has posted repeatedly that the song of his has caused an uproar in the Islamic community and how he is fighting back and blah blah blah to increase interest in him and his work. Simultaneously he plays the martyr, the persecuted, and the crucified- a drama queen indeed.
So I was wrong to give this person the publicity he craved, I should have left him to become the legend in his own lunchbox. It is too late and now Salem is thinking he is important. I just hope he slides and slithers back to that murky cesspool from which he ascended.

Please stop writing about "Homo Mojo" it is getting boring. I actually know Salim and he is a compulsive liar. Ask anyone who knows him and they will tell you that he is liar. There is no law suit, fan club,no record company none of that.He is just a petty overweight looser that spends all his time living in this fantasy world where he is so great at everything.
Take my advise Mojo and get some councelling. As for Omar Al Masri stop wasting your time on this guy.
"Sometimes you go through periods of self-doubt. When you feel like things aren't going well, or you feel a little down; take a moment to pray." ¾ Mohammed Salem
Bad slump continues for Salem
June 24th, 2004
Last night Mohammed Salem continued a losing streak that has been the longest of his tennis career since hitting the Victorian tennis scene in 1995. Mohammed who won the 2004 Wilson Classic in February this year has struggled to win a match since; losing every opening round of every tournament. Last night he was forced to retire due to injury after trailing 0-5 in the first set. Last night made it Mohammed's 16th consecutive loss. Mohammed is preparing to represent Victoria University against other Universities from across the country at the Southern University Championships (University Games) from July 5-8 in Geelong; he is part of a team of 5 players in a similar set up to that of the Davis Cup. Despite his sudden downfall on the court over the last few months, a spokesman for Salem denied reports that he is distracted by off court activities.
Dear Mr. Omar and other readers!
I have checked out the website and I must admit that there is no evidence at all that Mohammed is at all saying that "Islam accepts homosexuality nor condones it". He stated his own opinion and has claimed that they are HIS own opinions.
So I think a fair minded Muslim would agree that all this badgering is getting way out of hand.
As for all these other Muslims claiming to know him and calling hiim a 'compulsive liar' ... fear Allah. Stop judging him, as we have no right to judge anyone. This is Allah's job alone.
Personally, I think that people who attack him 'personally' are just jelous or want to stir up more trouble. Let's talk about some more serious and concerning issues here, rather than try and take down one of our own.
Have I said anything incorrectly or against Islam here??? If so, I ask forgiveness from Allah ... not from anyone in here or anyone else in the Muslim community ... if people agree with what I have said, then alhamdulillah and let's move on.
If people commit or support evil then they should be revealed to the Muslims. So that the Muslims can know. He does his evil openly, and he has been rebuked for that, now we can move on.
Leave mojo to his games for surely he will stand before Allah, as will we all.
Not equal are the Believers to the unbelievers. So his comment on equality is contrary to Islam.
"If people commit or support evil then they should be revealed to the Muslims. So that the Muslims can know. He does his evil openly, and he has been rebuked for that"
What evil??? My god, this sounds like an episode of "Charmed". If a person can't express his/her opinion in their own right, then what is Islam all about?? I'm reading up on Islam (am not Muslim here) but I am reading up on it out of interest. If we are unable to question or express opinion and right, then this is NOT a religion of freedom. However, luckily for me, I am relying on books for the truth and not the tongues of those who talk. Yusuf Islam once said that if he were to base Islam on the actions of Muslims such as yourselves who just pass judgement and call others evil doers etc, then he would not have become a Muslim.
All of you need to take a step back ... let he who is without sin cast the first stone!
Mohammed is not the only Muslim in the world to want to kick off a career in music. Is music haraam? Yes it is, we know it and don't deny it. But there are a lot more Muslims out there that have done a lot worse, committed sins that are more extreme. Why do we not talk about that? Again, Mohammed is not the only Muslim in the world who is a singer. Why do we not talk about all the Arab and Turkish Muslim singers? Is it because Mohammed is more accessable and easier to bring down?
I don't know him, but in all fairness ... let an individual "Muslim or otherwise" the right to their own opinion.
My god, we don't like the fact that the U.S. and Australia are preventing Imaams etc on their freedom of speech and expressing their opinions or views, and here we are doing the same. Where does it end?
Omar The Egyptian?! More like Omar The Drama Queen!!!
Here you are accusing someone of being a drama queen, but your the only one chucking up a hissy fit.
Where you went wrong? Where do I bloody begin?
I could say you went wrong from the moment you were concieved, but I'll save that for judgement day.
Do you have a day job Omar? My advice to you, would be not to give it up. 'Cause this gig certainly ain't gonna last much.
And everyone else posting in here ... if Oprah needed assistance, she'd ask. But there's a reason she's out making $300 million a year on a TV show and you guys are sitting on a free "opinion giving" site earning $0.
Get with it! Get real! Get a life!
Was it Mohammed Salem who burnt down Lysterfield mosque? Did he burn down al-Masjid al-Masri in protest of Omar al-Masri?
YOu know it's people like the idiot above who make stupid jokes, rumours, lies or whatever it is you want to call it that make MUSLIMS look like idiots.
Do people honestly think about what they write before they write it.
Now we're talking about burning down mosques??? allegations like that have dire consequences, why don't you state your name in addition to these allegations.
I am so ashamed of all of you ... what is the matter with you all. Have you all nothing better to do.
I know exactly who to keep my children away from now.

Wrong? You sure did go wrong!
Who's Mohammed Salem? Spokesperson? Defammation? Record Label? Club play? Australias newest popstar?
Who does this guy think he is? And why are you helping him to expand his imagination?
Last week I watched a movie, "A Beautiful Mind". Awesome film, probably Russell Crowe's best, but the first thing that popped into my mind was Mohammed Salem.
This Mohammed Salem dude has an extraordinary imagination. Not only because he talks rubbish, but he actually believes the rubbish he is saying. Call it Schizophrenia, Psychopathic, whatever. All I know is you're dealing with one sick puppy.
I realised this when I downloaded both of his tracks. And realised it was a back yard job. Amongst the worst I've ever heard. The Audio wasn't even flowing properly with the music. I had to adjust my equalisers to hear his voice. Maybe he has got a recording company, but they're rubbish and taking him for a ride if they think he has got potential.
Anyway they get some cash everytime he walks into the studio. They dont care how it sounds. Good on 'em.
What's a Muslim doing singing a song called "Will you make Love with me Again" Dont get it. I really dont. And Mohammed, as a person that actually cares for you, I suggest you get out of this dream world, stop talking rubbish, and think Islam. You wanna record music, keep sex out of it. And stick to something that you're good at.
Big Fella.
Big Fella
ur such a hypocrite talking about islam and yet you go download music yourself. by your own admission.
rather sad wouldn't you say
ur as bad as the rest of 'em
it's mp3 quality u fool! usually demo versions and not album versions
even a 5 year old would know that
Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God!
It has come to this. We are so completely COMPLETELY bored, that we have nothing better to do than to talk about whether a person should be a singer or not.
Need I not remind you that singing isn't exaclty the worst of sins. There are so many more Muslims doing a whole lot worse than this, yet this is all we can come up with.
Come on brothers and sisters ... it's getting a little sad don't you think?!
